Batea do Mar, Batea do Bosque. The project stems from a careful study of the Galician territory, aiming to engage with the landscape and enhance its identity. The Porto de Molle Sports Centre is designed as a suspended platform – a ‘batea’ – which, rather than floating on the sea, hovers above a continuous woodland. This elevated deck frees up the ground, ensures visual continuity and transforms the complex into a light and permeable space.

A bio-healthy and sports ring. Two rings structure the proposal: the outer ring functions as a wellness circuit adapted to the topography,

open to the community and enhanced with native vegetation; the inner ring houses the sports areas beneath a precise geometry, with permeable paving pigmented in shades of the forest.

Integration and lightweight structure. The project makes use of the difference in level to integrate subtly via a ramp, lift and universal accessibility. The hybrid structure combines local Galician timber (sustainability and warmth) and tensile steel (slenderness for long spans), achieving a low-impact, decarbonised infrastructure that is in harmony with nature.
