The architectural solution is the result of an attentive reading of the area in which the site is located. The euro street must be assumed as a road made up of a façade of buildings 7 storeys high. The north orientation has produced a screen façade as befits this orientation and a fast-moving traffic lane. The project then attempts to fragment itself and avoid an unnecessary and inadequate single volume for the creation of pleasant spaces that bring the human, vegetal and urban scales closer together, while favouring the project work in section, both transversally and longitudinally, on a site with a slope of more than 4 metres.
It is precisely this longitudinal section that allows the location of a two-storey car park to accommodate the required parking spaces and storage rooms, with minimal clearing and facilitating access from Calle del Cuarto. The building’s operational scheme is clear, with the different blocks being adjusted to the different typologies of 2, 3 and 4 bedrooms. Although there is a universally accessible dwelling on the ground floor, the dimensions of the corridors mean that this is also possible on any of the floors, as required by this group, as the corridors are 150 cm wide. In this sense, the entire building complex from the basement to the roof can be crossed by any resident regardless of their motor skills.
