We live in a complex ecosystem made up of social, historical, economic, political, ecological, climatic, urban and natural relationships, which exist in a delicate balance that is difficult to maintain. FEELS LIKE HOME fits into the naturalistic ecosystem of Fagerstrand with the will to create new proximities between humans and nature, humans and history, humans and other humans, and humans and places. The proposal revolves around three main actions: create new connections, preserve and enhance biodiversity, densify and create urban vitality. These operate in parallel to ensure that the intervention is inclusive, respectful and innovative, creating a complete integration between all the elements to make Fagerstrand an identitarian and resilient place, on nature’s terms. A place characterized by a new city center and a new seaside full of activities and spaces for socializing, capable of generating at the same time a greater relationship with the ecosystem in which it is inserted. FEELS LIKE HOME use architecture as a tool to explore how ecological processes and urban development can help to reduce social inequalities and create a viable, sustainable centre for humans and nature alike. The whole proposal wants to bring nature into the heart of the community, to reunite people and their lives with the countryside around them.
